For Lithos Design, a company that explores the expressive potential of marble through high-end surfaces and furnishings, we conceived and designed The Lithos Mag, a new editorial tool created to complement the catalogue and expand the brand’s narrative. As part of the art direction we oversee for the company, we developed the magazine’s concept in response to the need for a platform that could delve deeper into the brand’s world, showcase new releases, explore completed projects, and tell the story of marble through its technical, expressive, and applicative potential.
From defining the editorial framework to designing the layout, we developed a flexible visual system capable of accommodating a diverse range of content while maintaining a distinctive identity consistent with Lithos Design’s visual language. A project in which material becomes the common thread of a narrative that brings together product, architecture, research, and design culture.
The creation of the magazine involved developing original content and complementary visual languages, including dedicated videos, illustrations, graphic compositions, and a photoshoot conceived to showcase new product releases. The shoot was built around the concept of “Compositional Purity”, using architectural details and essential compositions to frame the product. Set design and styling rely on a reduced palette of elements, creating balanced, clear compositions in which the material remains the focal point. The resulting scenes establish a minimal architectural context that draws attention to the textures, surfaces and details of each piece.
The choice of paper also played an integral role in the creative process, serving as a means of conveying an additional dimension of the brand’s identity through its tactile qualities and visual finish.
The Lithos Mag thus takes shape as an editorial project that connects content and form, information and inspiration, transforming the magazine into a dynamic communication tool capable of evolving alongside the company and its design universe.
