Published on Wednesday, October 21st, 2026 with Corriere della Sera, the special Design Issue of Living Corriere features the editorial titled “In scena”, for which Studio MILO curated the creative direction, concept and styling, as well as the magazine’s cover.
In an unusual choice for Living, the cover is not a photograph but a drawing. It is a sketch created in the studio, composing a selection of design objects from galleries around one of Matteo Cibic’s curtains. This gesture opens the issue and sets the stage for the story inside.
The editorial comes to life in a dreamlike dimension, where the sculptures of Matteo Cibic inhabit the set like theatrical apparitions: figures suspended between reality and surreal narrative. Two moons, one full and one crescent, a clock, a comb, a fan and a curtain appear in oversized scale with a plaster-like finish. They are monumental and weightless at the same time, and quietly ironic.
Dramatic lighting carves out the volumes, heightens the artifice and amplifies the theatricality of the scene. The pieces converse with one another within a suspended imagery that feels both timeless and contemporary.
The project is built on contrast. Cibic’s bold white works stand out against a monochrome backdrop, while the furniture piece, set apart by its finish and color, steps forward as the true protagonist of each scene. The result is a series of staged tableaux where design and sculpture share the same stage. Every object plays a role, and the boundary between set and story dissolves.
